Christmas gathering | Table ware
The first memory I have of Christmas and its magic was when my dear mother took us to Melbourne. We walked the streets hand in hand and I was totally overwhelmed and caught up in the spirit. The city of Melbourne had transformed into a beautiful story book. The city streets had been adorned with wreaths and ribbons and you could almost hear the giant bells ring. I swear I could feel the chill of snow. All that was needed was a reindeer.
I adore Christmas! I love the warm feeling it evokes. I love the giggles and squeals of delight from our children. I love the belly laughs and the wrinkled eyes that accompany them.
I get so inspired by what Christmas could look like, and I delight in planning it out. I love the natural palette of nature and tend to focus on the simple beauty, the shapes and the textures. I want my home and my table to be in harmony with the noise this period brings, and not fight for attention. I want that relaxed feeling that encourages laughs and conversation, the kind that creates memories that live on.
So when it comes to decorating our christmas table, I have my eye on simple shapes, tactile pieces and a few pieces of luxe this year…
I think these are gorgeous and make a gorgeous alternative to a traditional tree +
I truly love linen and its crispness. These are Australian made +
These vases would give any table just the right amount of Christmas sparkle +
I am completely in love with the beautiful Peonies and Gypsophila this year
and they would bring softness to the table (source unknown)
These are concrete salt and pepper pots. Just perfect for a lovely simple table +
These stone plates would be fantastic for cheeses and fruit +
For flatware, I fell for these +
We wish you the very best and most beautiful Christmas period x
